Lilypads

This photo is of some lilypads at Whonnock Lake. It uses value, as the contrast between the dark and murky water and the originally pale green lilypads is obvious when made black and white. I like this photo because of the way it looks in black and white, as it makes the differences between the water and lilypads much more visible.

Stormy Skies

This photo is of the skyline of the school against the stormy sky behind it. As it is a black and white photo, it uses value. The photo also uses shape, as the silhouette of the school makes a shape cutting through the clouds. The clouds themselves are interesting as well, as there is a big contrast between the darkest and lightest parts of the sky.

Sketchbook

This photo is of Alexa with my sketchbook on a bench. The book and Alexa make a shape that is darker than the background, which makes it contrast much more, and the light photo on the cover of the book contrasts with the dark cover and clothes.

Swings

This photo is of Alexa on the swings. The photo uses Movement, as she is actively swinging in the photo. It also uses lines as the chains and her legs make lines pointing to her. I wish I had experimented more with angles, though.
