Worm’s Eye and Bird’s Eye

  1. Alexa’s shoes

I think this photo successfully uses pattern/repetition through the identical holes in the playground equipment. It also uses balance, as her shoes are equal distance from her head and the borders of the photo. If I could change something, I would experiment more with shutter speed to see if I could make the sky more vibrant, as I was completely focused on aperture while taking it.

2. Leaves

This photo uses colour and contrast with the way the leaves in focus are way more saturated and bright than their surrounding, and generally brighter too. The photo also uses emphasis for similar reasons; the colour pop, the focus, the blurred background.

3. Water Drop

This photo was the most difficult to take, but it’s also my favourite photo. This photo uses emphasis with how everything in the background is blurred out and the photo is very focused on on the droplet. It also makes use of lines, with how the branches loop around and surround the droplet.

4. All The Single Mushrooms

This photo uses contrast (+ texture) with how different the two halves of the photo are; one half is very textured and in focus, the other is blurry and smooth. This photo also uses shape/form, with how defined the shape of the mushroom is. Another element this photo makes use of is lines, because of the crack in the wood pointing to the mushroom.

5. Creek

This photo, though a bit chaotic, uses balance. The water goes down the middle, there are ferns and sticks on both sides, and the photo feels balanced in an unbalanced way. It also makes use of texture, through the ripples on the water and texture of the earth around it.

6. Pov: you just ate the mushrooms in the pic

This photo most notably uses analogous colours through its use of red, purple, and blue colouring. It also uses lines, through the bark of the wood leading to a dark gap, all of which leads you to the mushrooms which are the focus. If I could change one thing, it’s taking the photo closer to the mushrooms.
